All-on-X Dental Implants in Garden Grove, CA

A full set of fixed teeth on four to six implants — digitally planned and surgically placed by Dr. Tan Khuu, with your new arch crafted by a trusted lab and delivered within days of surgery.

All-on-X is a full-arch dental implant treatment that replaces a complete set of upper or lower teeth on just four to six implants, secured with a fixed bridge that doesn't come out. At Tan Khuu DDS in Garden Grove, Dr. Tan Khuu has placed over 1,000 implants, including many full-arch All-on-4 and All-on-6 cases, using CBCT 3D-guided planning. After surgery, patients rest at home while a trusted lab crafts their fixed arch, which is delivered a day or two later. The practice serves Garden Grove, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Santa Ana, Stanton, and Anaheim.

What does "All-on-X" mean?

"All-on-X" is the umbrella name for full-arch implant solutions where an entire arch of teeth is supported by a set number of implants. The "X" stands for the number used:

  • All-on-4 — a full arch on four implants. The most common approach; the back implants are angled to use available bone and often avoid grafting.
  • All-on-6 — a full arch on six implants, sometimes chosen for extra support or larger arches.

All of them share the same idea: instead of a removable denture that sits on the gums, your new teeth are anchored to implants and fixed in place — so they don't slip, don't need adhesive, and let you eat and speak with confidence. The right number for you depends on your bone, your bite, and your goals, which a 3D scan determines.

Who is a candidate for All-on-X?

Most adults who are missing most or all of the teeth in an arch, or whose remaining teeth are failing, are candidates. You may be a good fit if you:

  • Wear a denture that slips, clicks, or has to be glued in.
  • Have several loose, broken, or decayed teeth that aren't worth saving.
  • Have been told you "don't have enough bone for implants" — All-on-4 is specifically designed to use available bone, and Dr. Khuu also performs bone grafting when needed.
  • Want a fixed solution rather than something you take out at night.

A CBCT 3D scan at your consultation confirms candidacy and maps the exact plan. If you're healthy enough for a routine dental procedure, you're usually healthy enough for All-on-X.

What happens, and how long does it take?

  • Consultation & 3D scan. Dr. Khuu reviews your anatomy on CBCT and builds a guided surgical plan — and gives you a clear, all-in quote.
  • Surgery day. Any failing teeth are removed and the implants are placed using the guided plan. Sedation is available. Then you go home and rest.
  • Your new teeth, a day or two later. While you recover, our trusted lab partner crafts your fixed temporary arch. You return to have it attached — fixed in place, no gap, no denture.
  • Final teeth. Over the next few months the implants fuse with the bone (osseointegration). Your custom, permanent prosthesis is fitted once healing is complete.

Why we don't do "teeth in a day"

Many clinics advertise attaching a full arch the same day as surgery. Dr. Khuu deliberately doesn't. Surgery is enough for one day — you heal better resting at home, and giving the lab a proper window to craft your arch produces a better fit and a better-looking result. A day or two of patience, for teeth that are done right. Individual timelines and results vary.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is All-on-X the same as All-on-4?

All-on-4 is the most common type of All-on-X. "All-on-X" is the umbrella term — it just means a full arch of fixed teeth on a set number of implants (four with All-on-4, six with All-on-6). Dr. Khuu recommends the right number for your anatomy after a 3D scan.

How soon after surgery do I get my new teeth?

You go home and rest after surgery while our trusted lab crafts your fixed temporary arch, and you return a day or two later to have it attached. We deliberately don't attach teeth the same day — resting first and giving the lab proper time produces a better result. Your permanent teeth come after the implants heal.

Does All-on-X require bone grafting?

Often not — the technique is designed to use your available bone by angling the implants. If grafting is needed, Dr. Khuu performs it. A CBCT scan confirms what your case requires.

How is All-on-X better than dentures?

All-on-X is fixed in place, so it doesn't slip or need adhesive, restores much stronger bite force, and helps preserve the jawbone that shrinks under traditional dentures.

How much does All-on-X cost, and can I finance it?

Full-arch treatment in this area typically runs about $20,000–$30,000 per arch depending on your case. We offer interest-free financing through Alphaeon Credit and PatientFi and accept all PPO plans.
